Just Music

There are a lot of things going on in my life, but these days after work and stuff, all I want to do is listen and relax to some good music. So here we go... First some recent and some not as recent hip hop songs. Then to the light tunes of the Weepies. They were first introduced to me with the song "The World Spins Madly On." It is a song that always brings back some memories / feelings of Lehigh... Anyway I saw Dirty Sexy Money this week, and although I hate how Lucy Liu is playing the stereotypical sexual Asian female, they ended the episode beautifully with the Weepies playing "Somebody Loved."

hot in september

what a humid and hot day today... weather is really messed up these days. with the 7 yr anniversary of 9/11 and all the tragedies happening in the world, weather related or not, it seems like a really sad month so far... ...[taking deep breath] being grown up is not as fun as growing up...

While I am hopeful I will have a full time job by the end of this month, I am not excited at all to jump into the 9-late routine...

Another scary thought, the continuation of financial crisis that is hitting NYC and really the whole American economy... I really hope that any and all of my readers vote for Obama please, I don't know how far this country can sink anymore... I have less against McCain, but don't get me started on Palin... This country cannot take another 4 yrs of BS... is 8 yrs not enough for people?? Voting for McCain/Palin is "...not change. That’s just calling the same thing something different. You can put lipstick on a pig – it’s still a pig".... oooo uh oh, big controversy... I ain't talking about the baby making machines that are the Palins, and neither was Obama. McCain and Dick Cheney have said exactly the same effing aphorism when talking about Clinton and Kerry... anyway, unless you're in the top 20% to 5% of the pop. in terms of income in income or not pro-choice, I see no reason for anyone to not vote for Obama.

Anyway, putting these songs finally, and some new hot songs... makes me feel slightly better...

*Uploaded a new Kanye song, love lockdown - it premiered at the vma's and I got it exclusively from the mythman himself ha. sick sick song

** Jin is bringing it back on a freestyle on Love Lockdown... check it out

Bringing it back

wow 2 months since my last appearance / upload. Divshare was down for me for a bit, so that's partially to blame, but yea I'm been crazy busy, with family, friends, life, and of course working while I continue the real job hunt. I finished my digital portfolio, not the most impressive thing, but good enough to show some of my skills. www.lehigh.edu/~jjc204 to check it out. anyway, back to music. with my prolonged absence, I am uploading 2 playlists with over 30 songs, so get ready to download ha. hopefully you won't bust any download quotas / caps, yes companies are starting to limit the internet...

I'm addicted to baby with LL right now, but I am really enjoying Ne-Yo's new songs. Even though he didn't show up to the club after we waited for hrs, the night was a good one, and I doubt he was to blame. Access nightlife you get a thumbs down, and your free tickets better work for the next event.

Ne Yo and LL Cool J - The dude is bringing it back too, so its fitting. Though I did cringe when I saw I believe LL's clothing line at a Sears... I was getting a Dyson btw I must say no matter how good it is, its still feels like its not worth the extravagant price tag.

The second playlist one that consists of lite, alternative, or tv drama appearing songs will be uploaded soon, so come back and check it out within the next day or so ha.

so hard to find...

Wow almost a month since my last post. I've been slacking a lot I know, but I've also had a fun-filled crazy month. Though 22 is really not worth celebrating, I must admit this was probably the best birthday or should i say week I've had in a while. Anyway, I haven't had a chance to really organize my music, though I do have a ton on my ipod that I have yet to upload to my comp, and a few that I got recently that are sick.

This is my late june release ha,
Ryan Leslie's hit from last month, Addiction, and Shwayze's Buzzin' is catchy, but the songs below are amazing. Cookie Jar with Gym Class and The-Dream, two top artists in my book, is a hit. Its like a mash-up of The-Dream and T-Pain with Travis' playful rhymes. John Legend, I'm not sure if I put up Save Me or praised this guy before, but he deserves all the praise. This song is amazing, better than Magic with Robin Thicke which is getting killed on the Radio I believe. They are both good songs, but Thicke can't beat the legend that is John ha. Happy listening/downloading.

*Would have posted this a few days ago, but divshare has been giving me problems.

exclusively,
James

Ryan Leslie just looks wrong in all his photos with the sexy Cassie. Even in this classy and unrevealing photo Cassie glows and outshines Ryan, who always looks sorta stupid ha.

Seriously like moving mountains...

It's been a full ten days since graduation, and I've had no real excuse not to at least post here. It's been like a month since my last post and many things have happened, but only today have I felt some motivation to do anything relatively productive... its seriously like moving mountains ha. Not quite up to reflecting on my recent passage into the real world, or my current "freelance" status ha, so I'm just going to post on some cool stuff.

A bit long in the intro, but enjoy these music videos as the first continues into the other. Notice the two complimentary sides of Usher, check out the complimentary tints and tones - color theory : ).

My divshare has moving mountains, but I'll be sure to put up love in this club up as well. *

Something I would have liked to attend: a "magic fruit" tasting

I got the email about this too as I am on thrillist...
I'm going to get myself rolling, I'll be sure to post any musical motivators as I wipe the moss off ha.

Absinthe Tripping

So wired just killed the hype and myth of absinthe for me, but it doesn't mean I don't want to indulge in this notable liquor.

I'm tempted to buy an expensive award winning bottle / kit (spoon and glass, gotta do it right) now, but I'll definitely save it for a special occasion in the future with worthy friends ha.

I'll share these next few songs, heavy in my rotation, with everyone. It's a real shame I don't have anyone specific that comes to mind when I play these songs cause they're definitely for a special girl... "so many girls, so little time" ha

Definitely download Second Glance... Covergirl and The One definitely deserve a listen. Colby O'donis definitely has potential -
I dk who Midwest City, but they sound pretty good... anyway enjoy

PLUS, I should append it to the entry I made about The Simpsons and the bittersweet symphony part, a sick mashup with the Verve and Jay-Z

ALSO I'M ALMOST DONE... a mix of excitement and anxiety - same feelings for trip to toronto too...

I right what I see

Can't seem to finish this paper even though it was due days ago... The weekend started off awesomely besides this little glitch/bitch of a paper.

Anyway, had to put this awesome track by Lupe up - thanks Felicia, maybe I'll put Leavin' - Jesse McCartney - the video is truly awkward ha.

Moving Mountains...

Usher - Moving Mountains
Don't know if its the lyrics or the hit generating beats from the-dream but I can't stop listening to this song. This and the song Music for Love by Mario

Both of which I have uploaded and are sharing for download on my digital R&B Hip Hop mixtape on divshare.

I wasn't going to post today, but instead of working on my portfolio I decided to take a break and watch an episode of the Simpsons - still pretty strong and current after decades ha - I chose the episode "The 90's show" probably because life is flying by and can't really believe it, but the 2000's are almost over and the 90's is ancient history already. Crazy good episode, but I had the urge to post at the song "Bittersweet Symphony" at a touching moment when Homer rips the tentacle off the beanie baby and the filling spills out. BTW Hulu.com has a lot of full sponsored episodes (House, Simpsons, etc). Damn those sappy moments, they hit me hard. To be honest, the whole episode was touching - besides the political satire and outrageous yet on the spot mockery of the 90's there was the lesson that true love allows for mistakes, and allows for failings, as long as we sacrifice and express that love over the imperfections that each person undoubtedly has. A long and possibly flawed thought but I hope I got out what I'm thinking as I being to stress about my future... damn tinikling and ACS and damn all the school work and who could forget the emotional turmoil of searching for love or really acceptance...

Also in the mix on divshare,
Heartbreaker by Will.I.Am - Awesome awesome song - rarely can I relate ha, well maybe not that rarely haha music truly can lift my spirits and motivate... though its hard to ignore the semi-sellout and diddy bitchassness that comes with it, Got Me Going by Day26 has a spot on my list.

Coulda woulda shoulda

Coulda Woulda Shoulda - Prince Ty
Def. download this song - click divshare and download original with the itunes icon to get it.

A fitting song... It's really hard to express your true feelings and communicate with people (females especially), and that's always a regret of mine - not expressing my true desire or really the simple truth or asking the real question on my mind. Its a lot easier to say the wrong thing, or nothing at all : (. But life is always filled with situations where you look back and its coulda woulda shoulda, when instead it should be pushing forward - damn ecaasu ha.

So pushing on - quick update
My baby, my car though crazy dirty is all tuned up, and driving smooth and ready for another crazy roadtrip though it's unlikely to be up to Cornell again... Crazy story, better told in person, but part of it involved me almost dying changing my tire by the side of the road. A car came flying at me spraying dirt and screeching sideways, and missed my car, my buddy and me by a foot or so. I actually dodged a few bullets over spring break, ha better than slacking at home I guess.
Though of course, my dog would have preferred I stayed. I do miss her, dogs are really the best stress relievers, and god knows I need one right now. Fighting hardcore senioritis seriously drains everything out of you. Especially at my stage in life, where you absolutely realize the consequences and responsibilities that lay before you, but find it increasingly difficult to deal with it all. Fun stuff right? Really the only thing that I can do stress free is dance and listen to music. Future updates might just be music I find or enjoy and less of these written thoughts or releases. I mean if I feel good and doing everything right, I doubt I'll be posting ha, so I'd rather share good music, than make this a collection of regrets.

James

Finer Things

Cool new song below about showing someone the finer things of life.

It's been a while since I've posted, shoot I haven't even gotten a chance to really organize my music collection, find new songs etc... I have 18 credits, trying to get a portfolio together, ACS stuff, Hip Hop sessions, resume/job stuff (5 person panel interview at MTV in March), independent study/project for Urban Outfitters, and the occasional time to chill/drink/360. I still have to replenish my hookah supplies... With Chinese New Year and Ecaasu now past, and birthday weekends plus spring break coming up, my weekends have been and are booked till the next month. But in addition to being overloaded with all this stuff, I've felt the least motivated I've been my whole life...

Possible reasons could be my sad luck with all my stuff... Lets see, my laptop and car are both basically on their last legs, with repairs and problems piling up. I couldn't even bring my car back to school. I rarely use my laptop to do anything now, so the only way to connect with me is through my blackberry which I almost took out by dropping it in a toilet (a clean one...). I don't know what I'd do if I lost the email/facebook on my pearl.
Another thing could be me missing my dog terribly... She is still recovering after her cancer surgery and it makes me incredibly sad to see her so uncomfortable and not being able to take her mind off the scars/wound on her stomach.

I'm sure the real reason is the approaching end of a big chapter in my life... the college years, it has been quite a ride, and I intend to enjoy the last few stops, but its stressful to think about what I'm going to do/feel when it ends. This blog may even end with it - I've already been real lazy about updating it already.

Life is flying by

Slightly irrelevant song, but an awesome beat... Finer Things at the bottom of the Divshare playlist...

Jebus it's cold

I already put Winter by DT8 project up, so I'm going to have to find a song...

I was going to put up Refuge (When It's Cold Outside) by John Legend, but since Save Room came up, I can't resist putting that up as well. Thanks to DivShare for hosting my files, you can download them too...

ESNIPS CAVED TO MUSIC INDUSTRY PRESSURE SO I HAVE TO UPDATE ALL MY MUSIC HERE.

Quick updates:
My windshield on my car was busted by some drunk people on New Year's eve. Great way to start the New Year eh?
Haven't gone out much since the temperature dropped below 30. Next week thankfully, it'll be much warmer.
Not to mention I spent too much money the first week back with all the drinking and hookahing, so its nice to recover my funds and health ha.
Did some job searching type stuff, emails etc. I formatted my computer to optimize it, and so I've spent hours reorganizing my work, music etc. Its never ending.
I've seen a few movies, including some favorite HK classics and new ones.
Freshjamzonline.com - Look in the forum for the posts of new hip hop r&b songs, even check out the lists from months ago. They always have hits before they blow up on the radio and do not sound as fresh ha.
